ABOUT
Samut-samot, now Sanay Gabay, is a Filipino mom’s blog dedicated to all Filipino educators, parents, and students.
While homeschooling her daughter, Pia created her own worksheets based on her own research about various topics taught in the Filipino subject, which is a compulsory subject taken by grade school and high school students in the Philippines. She posts her work in the Samut-samot blog so others may use them in teaching or learning Filipino. Since first blogging in 2012, she has posted hundreds of free educational resources.
She created Sanay Gabay to merge her two endeavors, the original blog Samut-samot and her TeachersPayTeachers store Oliotopia. Sanay Gabay primarily provides worksheets, poems, stories, and other teaching resources for educators and parents who are teaching the subject Filipino.
The word sanay is a Filipino noun meaning practice, exercise, or training. Gabay is a Filipino noun meaning guide. This site intends to provide printable practice sheets for students learning the Filipino language and resources that would help guide educators in explaining the concepts behind Filipino lessons.
Pia used to live in a big city in Metro Manila, but she now enjoys provincial life with her husband and daughter in Southern Luzon.
